Before I started my transformation.

I believe our health & fitness transformation are less about our bodies and more about our mindset and how we portray ourselves.
When I first started getting into fitness I was about 16 years old. I was obsessed with becoming a model, so being a size zero and seeing my collarbones was a priority. I thought carbs were the enemy and cardio was my best friend.
The results: an eating disorder. I struggled with that for several years unable to, escape the vicious cycle. Fast forward, to my early to mid twenties; I somehow became comfortable eating like a “normal person” after confronting my past demons through lots of therapy.
Then one day, I had a light bulb moment and since then have made my health my number one priority. I started entering in bodybuilding competitions but that came with its own issues. However, it taught me how to challenge myself mentally, physically and emotionally.
Today, I have an extremely healthy relationship with food. I eat carbs (mainly clean/unprocessed) and lots of them. I know how to eat a well balanced diet without beating myself up over a dessert. I don’t look at myself in the mirror hating, critiquing or criticizing my body. I’m incredibly happy with myself and who I’ve become.
All that to say, it’s more than our bodies. It’s our mindset. Knowing the difference between a healthy mindset and an unhealthy mindset is honestly one of the most important aspects of living a healthy lifestyle.
